Turn One Dental Article Into a Week of Posts and an Email
Most clinics struggle with content for the same reason: they try to create something new every single time. A new blog post, a new Instagram idea, a new email, a new video. With a full patient schedule, that pace doesn't last. Within a few weeks, the social pages go quiet again.
There's a better way. Create one solid piece of content, then reuse it in different formats across your channels. One good article can become a week of social posts, a short video, a few stories and an email. Same knowledge, less effort, more consistency.
Why repurposing works
- Your audience is spread out. Some patients read blogs. Others only see Instagram. Others read emails. Repurposing reaches them all with the same message.
- People need repetition. Most people don't notice or remember a message the first time. Seeing the same idea in different forms helps it stick.
- It saves time. The hardest part of content is figuring out what to say and getting it right. Once you've done that for one article, reformatting is much faster.
- It keeps your messaging consistent. Every channel says the same thing, in the same tone.
Start with one strong "core" piece
Pick a topic patients really care about, ideally one of the questions your team hears every week. Write a thorough blog article of around 800 to 1,200 words, or record a 10-minute video or conversation with one of your dentists. This is your core piece.
Example topic: "What happens at your first implant consultation?"
Turn it into a week of content
Here's how one article can become seven days of material.
Day 1: Publish the article
Post it on your blog. Share it on Facebook and LinkedIn with a short intro and the link.
Day 2: Carousel post
Turn the article's main steps into a 5 to 7 slide carousel for Instagram and Facebook. "Your first implant consultation, step by step." One step per slide, simple text, a real clinic photo where possible.
Day 3: Short video
Have your dentist answer the main question on camera in 30 to 60 seconds. Filmed on a phone, in the clinic, with captions. Post it as a Reel and on other short-video platforms.
Day 4: Quote or myth post
Pull one striking line or myth from the article. "Myth: you need to decide on treatment at the first consultation. Truth: the first visit is about understanding your options." Make it a simple graphic.
Day 5: Stories with a poll or question
Use Instagram or Facebook stories to ask a question related to the topic: "What worries you most about implants? Cost, pain or time?" Answer the responses in follow-up stories.
Day 6: Behind the scenes
Show the consultation room, the scanner or the team preparing for a consultation. Link it back to the article.
Day 7: Email
Send a short email to your list summarizing the article's key points, with a link to read the full piece and a clear next step for those who are ready, like booking a consultation.
Other ways to reuse the same piece
- FAQ section. Add the key questions and answers to the relevant treatment page.
- Front desk and chatbot. Use the article's answers to improve your phone scripts and train your AI chat agent.
- Ads. Turn the short video into an ad for people interested in implants, or retarget people who read the article.
- Patient handouts. Print a one-page version for patients to take home.
Tips to make repurposing work
- Adapt, don't copy-paste. Each platform has its own style. A carousel needs short text. A video needs a conversational tone. An email needs a personal touch.
- Keep the core message the same. The format changes; the message doesn't.
- Batch the work. Spend one session creating all the pieces from one article. It's faster than doing a little every day.
- Plan a simple calendar. One core piece per week or every two weeks is plenty for most clinics.
- Reuse the best pieces again. A great post from six months ago can be shared again, updated or reformatted. Most followers won't remember it.
Consistency beats volume
You don't need to post three times a day. You need to show up consistently with useful, accurate content that sounds like your clinic. Repurposing makes that possible without hiring a full content team.
